Discover the musical heritage of Fryderyk Chopin in Żelazowa Wola

The Fryderyk Chopin Birthplace House in Żelazowa Wola is a place that every music lover should visit at least once in their life. One of the greatest composers of all time was born here, in a former manor house. The museum offers not only the opportunity to see the interiors where the young Chopin grew up, but also the unique chance to hear his music played on a historic Erard piano from 1838.

May in Żelazowa Wola is a special time - full of music and art. This year's long May weekend is packed with concerts and recitals. The programme includes performances by both young talents and established artists, winners of international competitions. From Dmitry Ablogin's inaugural concert on 1 May, to Piotr Sołtysik's musical quadrants, to recitals by Mateusz Krzyżowski and Janusz Olejniczak on Saturday and Sunday. Every day brings something special for fans of Chopin's music.
Concert schedule May 2024
1 May marks the start of a new series of special concerts on public holidays. On that day, Dmitry Ablogin will perform at 12.00 and 15.00. Other concerts in this cycle will take place on 3 May, 20 June and 15 August.
On Thursday, 2 May, there will be a performance by Piotr Sołtysik, a student of the Karol Szymanowski State Music School Complex No. 4 in Warsaw.
On 3 May, at 12.00 and 15.00, Piotr Alexewicz will perform as part of the Special Concerts series.
On 4 May, the Saturday Chopin recitals will feature Mateusz Krzyżowski, winner of the Fryderyk Chopin National Piano Competition.
On 5 May, Janusz Olejniczak, one of the world's leading Chopin interpreters, will open the 65th season of Chopin recitals, which have been held in Żelazowa Wola since 1954 on the initiative of Professor Zbigniew Drzewiecki.
