Standards of protection for minors

Hotel Chopin Maryla Pliszka conducts hotel services and offers professional internships for students of catering and hotel management technical schools.
We strive to ensure that children and young people enjoy safe and comfortable conditions during their stay and training at our Hotel. In all interactions with children, we aim to model proper behaviour, both in educational activities and everyday contact.
The responsibility for implementing these Standards lies with the Human Resources Department staff member.

The purpose of this document is to ensure the safety of minors during their stay and internships at Hotel Chopin Business & Spa. The Standards apply to all staff members, regardless of the form of employment.

Key Definitions
Child – any person under the age of 18
Student – any person completing an internship at Hotel Chopin Business & Spa under an agreement with a vocational school or technical college
Supervisor – internship mentor or person overseeing the student's training
Child abuse – any intentional behaviour that causes a child sadness, pain, shame, or other negative emotions; including hitting, humiliation, unfair punishment, or inappropriate touching
Personnel – all individuals working at the Hotel, regardless of the employment contract
Register – the national register of sex offenders, maintained under the Act of 13 May 2016 on counteracting sexual crime and protecting minors

Staff Responsibilities
Respect and protect children – no shouting, physical violence, vulgar language, or inappropriate content
Report concerning behaviour – to HR or directly to the Manager/Police
Obligation to intervene in danger – including citizen's arrest if necessary
A staff member designated by HR is responsible for the child's care during incidents

Internships
Promote mutual respect and cultural behaviour among students
No violence, hate speech, or disclosure of private information
Internet content control allowed only with guardian consent and for justified reasons

Hotel Guests
Obligation to verify the relationship between adult and child
Request for documentation if needed
In case of suspected abduction – citizen's arrest and Police notification
Provide the child with care in a safe environment

Role of the HR Department
Staff training and criminal background checks of mentors
Posting the summary of standards in the hotel and on the website
Registering and documenting incidents
Creating support plans for abused children

Employment with Children
Criminal background and sex offender register checks
Submission of relevant declarations and certificates required
No employment allowed without necessary documentation or in case of a criminal record
